CAE Certificates LED Spain: TER030 & IND050 Guide | INLuss®

When a Spanish business replaces its traditional lighting with LED, the energy savings don't just appear on the electricity invoice — they can also generate cash income through the official CAE system (Certificados de Ahorro Energético), regulated by Spain's Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO).

In 2026, the CAE market price is between €115 and €140 per MWh of certified savings. For a standard warehouse or sports facility installation, this translates to €3,000–€16,000 in additional income on top of the electricity savings.

What is the CAE system?

A Certificado de Ahorro Energético (CAE) is an official electronic document guaranteeing that an energy efficiency measure has generated a specific amount of new final energy savings — one certificate per kWh saved. Businesses can sell these certificates to obligated parties (energy distributors required by law to achieve savings targets), receiving payment directly.

The system is permanent — no closing date — and is currently active across all sectors.

Which ficha applies to LED floodlights?

Two fichas (standardised technical sheets published by MITECO) are relevant to LED floodlight installations:

  • Ficha TER030 — "Sustitución del sistema de iluminación por sistema con fuentes luminosas y/o luminarias tipo LED." Applies to tertiary sector buildings: offices, retail, hotels, sports facilities, community car parks.
  • Ficha IND050 — Same substitution in the industrial sector: warehouses, logistics yards, production plants.

Technical requirements for CAE qualification

To qualify under TER030 or IND050, the new LED luminaire must:

  1. Replace an existing (non-LED) luminaire — new installations from scratch do not qualify
  2. Meet minimum efficiency thresholds (lm/W) specified in the ficha
  3. Be supported by product certificates from an accredited laboratory demonstrating the claimed efficiency
  4. Carry a valid CE mark in accordance with applicable EU directives

This last requirement is critical: self-declared CE marks do not satisfy the documentation requirements of the CAE ficha. The application requires lab reports from an independent, accredited testing body.

How the CAE value is calculated

The CAE value for a TER030 installation is calculated from three variables:

  • Power reduction: legacy wattage minus LED wattage per unit
  • Annual operating hours: standardised tables by activity type and climate zone
  • Market price of CAE: €115–€140/MWh in 2026

Example: padel club, 32× 100W replacing 400W metal halide, 8h/day

  • Annual savings: 28,074 kWh = 28.1 MWh
  • CAE income at €127/MWh: approx. €3,568
  • Combined with energy savings of €5,053/year: total first-year benefit €8,621

Documentation required

To process a CAE application you will need:

  • Itemised invoice for LED luminaires and installation labour (separated)
  • Product lab reports showing lm/W from an accredited test laboratory
  • Proof of decommissioning the old luminaires
  • A Sujeto Delegado (accredited intermediary registered with MITECO) to manage the application

INLuss provides lab reports issued by third party testing agency, downloadable from our sustainability page. These are the documents your Sujeto Delegado needs to open the CAE application file.

How to proceed

  1. Complete your INLuss installation
  2. Download the CE lab reports from our website
  3. Contact an accredited Sujeto Delegado from the MITECO register
  4. The Sujeto Delegado manages verification (by an ENAC-accredited verifier) and monetisation
  5. You receive the CAE income directly

We can provide Sujeto Delegado references on request: contact@inluss.eu

What is the real value of a CAE in 2026?

The market price of Energy Saving Certificates in Spain is between €115 and €140/MWh in 2026.

Each kWh of certified savings has a real economic value of €0.115 to €0.14.

With 20 INLuss® 100W spotlights replacing 400W HID (8h/day), the certifiable savings is 17,520 kWh/year, which at market price generates €2,015–€2,453 in annual CAE income, in addition to the savings on the electricity bill.

Your LED installation doesn't just cut bills. It generates certified income.

Spain's CAE system (Certificados de Ahorro Energético) converts verified energy savings into real market income, currently €115–140 per MWh of certified saving. Every kWh your installation saves is worth €0.115 to €0.14 in certificates you can sell. There's one hard condition: the LED must carry a CE report from an accredited laboratory. Autodeclared CE is explicitly excluded from TER030 and IND050 eligibility. INLuss® holds accredited lab report LCSE03075034S, issued by Ningbo LCS Standard Technology, September 2025. Publicly verifiable. That report is your CAE eligibility proof, built into the product. A 20-unit INLuss® 100W installation replacing 400W HID fixtures at 8 hours/day generates €2,015–€2,453 in annual CAE income, on top of the energy bill reduction. The payback isn't just shorter. It pays you back twice.
